The Porvorim clinic is the North Goa practice of Dr. Melvin Chagas Silva, a NIMHANS- and UK-trained consultant psychiatrist with over twenty years of clinical experience. Located on Chogm Road in Alto Porvorim, the clinic is a short drive from Panaji, Mapusa, Betim, Sangolda and Guirim, and serves families from across Bardez and Tiswadi.

Consulting hours

Dr. Melvin consults at Porvorim Monday to Friday, 9:00 am–12:00 noon, and on Monday and Thursday evenings, 4:00–7:00 pm — by appointment. Therapy sessions with the wider team are scheduled separately; call to arrange a time.

What we offer in Porvorim

The Porvorim clinic offers psychiatric initial assessment, medication management, individual psychotherapy, couples and family therapy, memory disorders workup for older adults, and child and adolescent mental health assessment. Psychological testing and psychometry can also be arranged. Consultations are available in English, Konkani and Hindi.

Care at the practice is team-based: Dr. Melvin Chagas Silva (consultant psychiatrist and psychotherapist), Alan Fernandes (counseling psychologist) and Griselda Nobbay (psychiatric social worker) work together so that medication, therapy and psychosocial support are coordinated rather than fragmented.

Fees and booking

An initial assessment is ₹3,000–₹4,000 and follow-up consultations are ₹2,000–₹2,500, depending on the clinician and session length. We accept cash, cards, online transfer and UPI.
